Community Programs

The Community Programs Coordinator serves as a department liaison to various community groups. The unit is responsible for coordinating existing programs, developing and fostering partnerships to include new programs to assist the police department in fulfilling its Community Policing initiative through crime prevention, community service functions, and raising public awareness.

  • A Level 1 application is for those individuals who are interesting in volunteering at the Community Education & Outreach Center. The background check normally takes about a week.
  • A Level 2 application is for those individuals who are interested in volunteering at any other police facility and must undergo a substantial background check. The background check normally takes about six to eight weeks.
