The Office of Self Insurance

The Office of Risk Management is responsible for managing risk and liability, including citizen claims. We are also responsible for the occupational safety and health programs for employees of the City of Newport News.

If you have been involved in an accident or incident with a city vehicle, this office's claims adjusters will assist you in resolving the situation as quickly as possible.

Our safety personnel play an active role in protecting the safety and health of city employees. We conduct facility inspections and provide training to employees to ensure the city's compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
