Crash Reconstruction Unit

The Crash Reconstruction Team is comprised of police officers with advanced motor vehicle crash investigation and reconstruction skills. They investigate all fatal crashes on city streets, as well as crashes involving city equipment being operated in emergency mode. They also investigate or assist with crashes beyond the scope of a patrol officer's training. They work closely with the assigned attorney from the Commonwealth's Attorney Office to ensure justice for victims and the families of those involved in serious and/or fatal crashes. Their motto is: per Inquisitio Vertatis (Truth Through Investigation).
